In class, you'll wire together your own console with an Arduino board. No previous experience with electronics necessary, we'll show you everything you need to know. Lots of fun for kids (10+) and adults!

What You'll Learn

Hardware Basics

Learn how to read a simplified schematic, use a breadboard, and wire up screens, buttons, and microcontrollers.

How to load various games on your console

We'll teach you how to find other open source games online and load them onto your conosle using the Arudino IDE.

Meet the Console

In class, you'll build an Arduboy-compatible console entirely on a breadboard. It features an OLED screen, tactical buttons, and a piezo buzzer for retro sound effects.

About Twin Cities Circuits

Founded by Jason Altekruse, a software engineer based in Minneapolis with a hobby interest in both hardware hacking and video game programming.


He has built websites, databases and video games in a variety of programming languages for a variety of platforms. He created an open source website aimed at helping math teachers and students called freemathapp.org.
